This groundbreaking docuseries will be a Heroin(e) meets The Keepers, an award-contending, bold, and cinematic project that focuses on the experiences of the Survivor-Leaders and current trailblazers of the movement to protect our children and restore true freedom in our country. It’s the closest anyone has gotten to the real situation in the USA, something few truly know about, told by those that have lived it and are destined to be the biggest change-makers in the movement.

Below is the one-page synopsis. Though my presence and that of other activists are highlighted in the teaser, it was mainly to fill out the pieces to show the breadth of the story. As time went on I realized that those who lived through five, ten, twenty years of slavery were the most compelling ones to put on film.

To maximize the on the ground impact of this series, which will be the first film or series that truly shows the whole story, how its mostly American girls and boys that are bought and sold each day, I developed an action hub where the initiatives of the leaders in the show, and others like them, are featured.

The Phoenix Effect offers a hundred ways for the average man and woman to get involved in the movement with the time, talent, or treasure they are abundant in. It’s more than those that go hunting for kids, most anyone can be an activist by sharing what they are good at with one of the many organizations led by those with lived experience. They are some of the biggest heroes of our time.

I have been bringing attention to the topic as a speaker as well…

Here are a few of the podcasts that hosted me.

It was in making the video below, as a fundraiser for a high school for recovered girls, that my fire was lit for this issue. I spent years investigating it since then, the majority of that time was with the people who lived it, who eventually became my friends, with a desire to address what they said and I saw as the main holes in the movement.

This project is a answer to their concerns for the public to truly comprehend what’s going on amidst the propaganda and distraction and to channel support to the valuable initiatives they spearhead. And, to humanize them. For me it’s more than humanization, it’s lifting them up and highlighting them for acts of endurance and heroism that exceed what people believe to be possible.
